Phase 2 Orthodontics for Teens
Ages 12 - 18
Phase 2 orthodontic treatment usually takes place during the teenage years, when most or all permanent teeth are in place, and growth is beginning to slow.
This phase is designed to build on earlier Phase 1 orthodontic care, continuing the work started during childhood to refine tooth alignment and bite function as development progresses. That said, many teens begin their orthodontic journey with Phase 2 treatment, successfully bypassing Phase 1.
During Phase 2 treatment, braces or clear aligners are used to guide each tooth into a balanced position. Treatment planning considers how the teeth come together, overall bite balance, and how alignment relates to everyday activities like eating and speaking. The goal is a well-aligned smile that functions comfortably during your teen's growth.
